Associate/VP-Tax-Investment Partnerships

Senior level position within the Investment Tax Group responsible for tax matters for Firm’s private equity and mezzanine debt funds. (Primary responsibility will be working on new $8.5 billion private equity fund) This work includes reviewing and preparing tax estimates, returns and delivery of K-1s to investors, and various tax-related projects. There will be interaction with Investment Accounting, Human Capital Management, Technology, Finance and Administration and Asset Management groups of the Merchant Bank, third party accounting and law firms and outside joint venture partners. Principal Responsibilities • Primary tax responsibility for a group of the firm’s private equity and Mezzanine debt funds. This includes responsibility for quarterly and year-end tax reporting to investors; federal, state and local tax filings; coordination with joint venture partners and various foreign tax reporting requirements. • Provide tax support directly to the Merchant Bank with respect to asset sales, restructuring and cash distributions. • Interface with other areas of the firm including Investment Accounting, PIA Finance and Administration and Asset Management, Human Capital Management, third party accounting and law firms. • Participate in department and divisional initiatives. • Work with other members of Tax to ensure delivery of K-1s to investors on a timely basis. Experience/Skills • • 6 – 10 years in public accounting and/or relevant industry. • Solid managerial skills. • Significant experience with partnership taxation issues (private equity fund experience preferred, but not necessary) • Strong computer technology skills. • Ability to work well within a team environment. • Excellent organizational skills. • CPA and/or Masters degree a plus.
